Humayun Tomb is a tomb in Delhi, India that has been made to save the memory of Mughal Emperor Humayun. His son Akbar constructed this in 1569-1572. It is one of the most beautiful architectural examples of Mughals in India. Lots of tourists visit this place every year. It is located in New Delhi, India. The entire tomb is surrounded by gardens and it is the first-ever tomb that has been made by Mughals like this. Mirak Mirza Ghiyas was the architect of this tomb and it was built by Biga Begum after the death of his husband. She is also known by Hamida Banu Begum. She was the wife of Emperor Humayun. The architect was a Persian person and he was brought from Herat to build this special tomb. But he died before the construction completed. This construction was the beginning of Mughal’s architect in the Indian subcontinent. Red stone was used in that tomb for the first time for any Mughal constructions. Humayun was the first-ever Mughal Emperor who was born in India. But still, he was wise in Islamic knowledge and Persia. To protect his memory this tomb was built.
