Holi is known as the festival of color. It is celebrated among Hindu peoples all around the world. It is one of the biggest festivals in India. People from Bangladesh and Nepal also perform this festival. In the month of March of every year, people celebrate this festival. It comes with so much fun and joy.
There is a long story behind this festival. There was a devil king named Hiranyakashyap and he had a song Prahlad and a sister Holika. This king has a very good blessing on him from Lord Brahma but he became arrogant because of his power. Then he asked people to worship him.
But his son Prahlad denied that. He was a devotee of Lord Vishnu. Then the lord planned to kill his son and his sister helped him. But they weren’t able to kill Prahlad. That’s the story of Holi. That’s why people come together to celebrate this day with lots of fun and joy.
This celebration is really popular in Bangladesh and India. People wear white dresses and come out with water and colors. And then they put color on each other face. This is a very unique and amazing festival. I love Holi a lot.
