Polythene is a kind of plastic that is non-biodegradable element in nature. When we use it and throw it, it becomes the biggest reason for environmental pollution. The soil becomes unfertile because of the presence of plastic there. There are tons of harmful effects of polythene in the environment. First of all, it is the cause of pollution of water and soil.
It interrupts the wildlife. A report says that it is killing 100,000 animals every year including whales, turtles, penguins, and dolphins. These are the most important part of wildlife and sea life. This type of elements is non-biodegradable and stays the same for 2000 years. When an animal eats it mistakenly it becomes the reason for its death.
It has toxic chemicals and we used polythene to keep our food. It makes our food poisonous. That is a huge health threat to our regular life. We should avoid and stop eating food packaging on plastic bags.
Polythene is blocking the drainage system in the cities. When we throw it on the dustbin or in the drain, it sometimes gets stuck there and blocks the whole process. Lots of experts are saying that using too much polythene become a reason for kids to face Asthma in their later life and weak lung.
So there are tons of harmful effects of polythene. We all should stop that.
